History of the College

Government Arts and Science College, previously a Constituent College of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, had its humble beginning at the Government Primary School Campus in Kanyakumari in 2012. The primary objective of establishing this college in the southernmost tip of India was to provide higher education opportunities to rural students. In furtherance of this objective, the college was relocated to a new building in Palkulam, which was inaugurated on 5th September 2017 by the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamilnadu via video conferencing. Since its inception, the Government Arts and Science College has been committed to offering quality education to its students and empowering them to achieve their academic and professional goals.
